This was my first film project ever attempted. In mid-October of 2009, I stumbled across the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest website while taking a break from my architecture schoolwork. In essence, the contest was created by Doritos to encourage consumer-created commercials for their brand. Each year six finalists are selected for the opportunity to be broadcast during the Super Bowl. After reviewing the initial submissions, I was very disappointed with the quality of the entries and decided to try to create my own entry.

The premise of my commercial was a spoof on the typical erectile dysfunction advertisements that had been flooding TV networks. The tango music track provided by the contest organizers reminded me of some of the over-the-top Viagra and Cialis ads that featured couples in mundane situations "randomly" choosing to spice up their love lives.

In my commercial, we find a middle-aged couple whose night takes a playful turn while washing the dishes... unfortunately, things go awry when the wife unwittingly makes a key mistake. Nothing kills the "mood" worse than destroying a man's Doritos.

I wrote the script myself and contacted local actors through the NC Film Commission. While my entry was not selected, this project was an amazing opportunity to get experience in every level of film production.
